PETANQUE SOCIAL CLUB is a new secret jewel in Gueliz (old French area of Marrakech). This new project by Kamal Laftimi (Le Jardin, Café des Épices, Nomad, Dada….) offers international cuisine with a magic touch. The architecture and interior design has been created by DiegoandAlexeja Art & Design Studio with their Magic Totalism and it takes inspiration on the original members club that had run on the same site since the 1930s with a new add-on touch of art and culture from the multi-faceted marrakshi contemporary society. Indoors and outdoors have been created to offer the city a new gathering space for artists, dancers, bonne vivantes and sybarites of all kinds.

PETANQUE SOCIAL CLUB provides food, music, art and entertainment. It has been a long process of production of this place that lasted nearly three years. All the materials on the existing place were recycled or upcycled to preserve the energy of this very particular historical place of Marrakech. Most of the furniture and decoration was created from recycled materials handcrafted by local artisans. Other finds that make the place special are La Mamounia sofa sets from the 70s or the unique and unexpected site-specific mural and ceiling created by Marrakshi grand painter Yassine Balbzioui.
