EXIBHITION MUSEO DEL TRAJE – MADRID
Coutures was a project curated byDiego Alonso from Diego & Alexeja Art & Design Studio exploring the relationship between materials, objects and space. The project reflects the studio’s interest in creating environments through unexpected combinations, texture, colour and carefully selected elements.
For Diego & Alexeja, the individual objects are only part of the story. It is the relationship between them, and the atmosphere created by their combination, that gives a space its identity.

The permanent exhibition of the Museo del Traje and the photographs of Parisian haute-couture taken by Joséphine Douet during a key decade in contemporary fashion (2000-2010), were presented side by side to generate a discussion about the history of the suit (‘traje’) that highlights an unending cycle of influences and inspirations. Douet is a French photographer living in Paris, and this expo demonstrated another side to the couture shows, the one backstage. Curated by Diego Alonso (Mondo Galería), it featured 25 images as part of PhotoEspaña Festival 2016.
